Standard White Industries HT Nabe Speedracer

    Bin fuer jede Anregung dankbar!

    1. Loosen the 3 set screws using a 2mm allen wrench through the access hole on the non-drive side of the hub shell.

    2. Remove the adjustable axle end from the non-drive side of the axle. If you can not remove with your fingers, thread a 6mm bolt into the adjustable axle end, and use the Q.R. skewer, slid through from the drive side to drive the axle end out.

    3. Pull axle, and drive unit out of the hub shell from the drive side. If it is a little stubborn use something smaller than the diameter of the axle to tap it out from the non-drive side. Tip: When the drive unit is removed from the hub shell the pawls and springs can fall out. Keep an eye on them as they are easily lost.

    4. Slide the axle out of the drive unit. Tip: Keep track of the thin thrust washer that goes between the hub shell and the drive unit. If it is a little stubborn use something smaller than the diameter of the axle to tap it out with. Wipe off the axle, axle end, and drive side spacer with a clean rag.

    5. Check each bearing by turning the inner bearing race with your finger. If the bearings feel rough, remove the rough bearing(s) from the hub or driver using the White Industries Bearing Removal tool(a hammer, and drift punch can also be used. If using a punch be careful not to strike the bearing seat in the hub shell, or driver body). The seals of the bearings can be removed with a pin, or razor blade. Clean out bearings with solvent, apply fresh grease to bearings. Press seals(numbers, or writing side out) back into place. If bearing is still rough it needs to be replaced.

    6. Press bearings back into place using the White Industries Bearing Press, be sure to use the correct bearing adapter in the press(you can substitute a hammer and properly sized socket that will press only on the bearings outer race without contacting the seal).

    7. Be sure that the drive side axle end is locktited in place. If it is not, clean axle end and inside of drive side of axle with a clean rag. Use rc/680(green) locktite to fix into place.

    8. Slide drive side axle end spacer(7.0mm) onto the axle and slide the axle into the driver unit. Skip this step if your drive side axle end fits over the axle and not into the axle.

    9. Install springs into the pawl carrier. When looking down on the pawl carrier the springs go in the left hand hole. Depress the springs and install the pawls into the right hand hole. Use one drop of oil on the pawl pivot to lubricate. DO NOT USE GREASE. Check the function of each pawl.

    10. Slide thin thrust washer onto axle up against the pawl carrier inner bearing.

    11. Slide entire axle/driver assembly into the hub shell. When the pawls contact the hub shell twist the driver counterclockwise to engage the pawls into the ratchet ring in the hub.

    12. Slide axle adjusting collar onto non-drive side axle end.

    13. Adjust the hub.

    A) set the drive side axle end down on the work surface.

    B) with your finger tips, push down on the axle adjusting collar.,or place a socket head over the collar and tap with a soft mallet.

    C) slide adjustable axle end into axle.

Ds) tighten the 3 set screws firmly with a 2mm allen wrench. Make sure that the allen wrench is inserted all the way into the set screw before tightening. If the adjustable axle end is still able to be pulled out by hand then the set screws are not tight enough.
