hey, i live in australia so my choice is rather limited. specialized, scott, KHS, Giant, Avanti, and a few more...i need advise on complete bikes, both hard tail and dual sus. i know slalom and freeride are hard to combine in one bike, but im willing to wait to find the perfect one. any advise on which to get, or not to get would be great! im 6" and about 152lb. thanx heaps!!!!

yeah, the Specialized P3 should be able to combine Freeride and dual Slalom requirements...

i rode the scott fx2 for 2 years, even 2 dh-races. i worked quite well and was in my eyes the optimal freeride bike. and because of its low weight it´s also okay for dual. it would be a good idea to change the fork in a reliable and good working one, this was what i did. the frame is very ok

what about the specialized P.1 and then replace the gears to a 24 speed? that would be a great way to go! If you cant afford a P1 P2 P3 wait untill you have the money! It is an excellant bike!

Hey man I've just bought a Specialized stump jumper pro disc and i just broke the derailleur off goin over a 4 pack.
Any way if i was u i'd definately buy a hardtail cuz my opinion is that they r better 4 jumpin cuz i used to have one and wenever u r aproachin a jump u pedal hard but the rear shox just take all the power. its up to u man but i tink a great hardtail to get would have to be either the giant stp #1 wich is round $1500 but also another great bike thats round $1000 wuld be the avanti hotdog 2005. |
