    Standard Europ. 4X-Serie

Folgendes war auf www.daleholmes.com zu lesen (vielleicht kanns wer den Tieschener jungs ausrichten, falls sie das noch nicht wissen):

E-Mail from Zdenek Pol from the Czech Republic Thursday, January 1, 2004

    Dear friends,
we are over two full official seasons of fourcross racing. Something was
    great, something very bad.

Unfortunatelly just a few countries worldwide have its own national 4X cups.
Also, if a european rider wants to compete on the international level, he
can only race World Cup and World- and European Championships (if he is a
member of national team). Anyway, in case that there are no collisions in
dates of the races, top fourcross rider can race maximum about 20 races per
season. This is not enough for guys like Michal Prokop, who normaly has
about 50 BMX results per year...

I feel, we really need European 4X Series! There is very strong 4X scene in
Great Britain, we have 10 permanent tracks here in the Czech Republic, they
will build new tracks in France and Italy, also people in Austria, Poland,
and many other countries around the Europe are doing nice job to help 4X to
be stronger. Good tracks are the most important base for the birth of
    European 4X Series.

I don´t think that we need huge budget for the series. As first step, we can
just connect those races that you are going to organize. We can prepare
uniform rules, bring always the same starting gate, point-scale, logo and
poster layout, number plates, trophies and overall prize money or different
special prize. Of course, we must provide maximum local promotion of the
series in our countries. We don´t need to pay UCI commisairs or E1/E2
registration fees. We can use our money for better things which help to
increse the quality level of our events.

After the first season, when we´ll see how it all works, we can make next
steps like overall TV and media coverage, sponsorships, etc..

I am sure we can start in 2004! The series should have at least five stops
in different countries. POLIS Production is ready to be a coordinator of the
projects. We can offer our starting gate which is the same as used at World
Cups. We can organize one race in the Czech Republic. We can work on rules,
event schedule, logo, layouts, etc. Any kind of your help is invited:-)

Is there anybody interested in this project??? Hopefully we are not alone...

This e-mail was sent to many good friends of us, organizers, owners of bike
parks, to whom it may concern, around the Europe. If you know somebody who
could be interested in the European 4X Series, please forward this message
on him. Thank you for your time.

I wish you Happy and Very Successful New Year 2004!

    Best regards

    Zdenek Pol
