Stratos S-7 - Old Anonym - 2001-09-03 Sorry but this message is in english. i have just got my stratos S-7 but the wasnt a manuel with it :-( i need to know what knop is for what on the top of the legs. there a red one and silver one. (theres no info on the Stratos Website. please help Stratos S-7 - Chris - 2001-09-03 Are you sure there is no information at http://www.stratashock.com i found those two links there: http://www.stratashock.com/04.Support/Fork.FAQ/Fork%20FAQ%20Manual/Fork%20Manual%202001.htm which is the 2001 manual for all stratos forks in html and http://www.stratashock.com/04.Support/Fork.FAQ/Fork%20FAQ%20Manual/Fork%20Manual%202001%20Rev%20A.pdf which is the manual in pdf (adobe acrobat reader) i'm pretty sure you'll find the needed information there. i guess the knob on the right fork leg is the rebound-adjuster. and the one on the left side in silver is for compression adjustment. Stratos S-7 - Old Anonym - 2001-09-03 hi chris i already DL the manuels but no the explane alot but not thos 2 knops :-( Stratos S-7 - Chris - 2001-09-03 Of course they do. At least they explain the function of the red knob on the right side. 3.3.1 Rebound 58. Rebound adjustment: The rebound adjustment knob controls how fast the fork returns after compressing from hitting a bump. The rebound speed can be slowed by turning the red knob on the right fork leg. Turning it clockwise will slow the rebound speed. Too much rebound and the fork will 'pack up' - not return to full extension by the time the next bump is hit, and so on until the fork is collapsed which will cause the rider to stop or slow down to allow the fork to extend. Too little and the fork will 'bounce' in an uncontrolled way that reduces control of the front wheel and forces the rider to slow down in technical areas. you can find it at: http://www.stratashock.com/04.Support/Fork.FAQ/Fork%20FAQ%20Manual/Fork%20Manual%202001.htm#_Toc502141689 so the knob on the left side has to be for compression adjustment because according to the technical specifications the s7 offers both external rebound and compression adjustment. you can easily check it out by turning the right knob clockwise. doing so, the fork should rebound slower. turning the left knob should make the fork feel "harder", this means you need much more power to compress it.
